Joshua David Mills was the last victim of bicycle theft on campus.  Mills secured his bike with a combination lock at 1:30p.m. on Tuesday, Nov 27.  When he arrived back to get his bicycle at 5:30 p.m. it was gone along with the combination lock.  The bicycle is a blue Huffy that is worth approximately $120.

For Mills, the blue Huffy is a lost friend he’d like to find again.  So speak up if you see one like it.

A routine traffic stop revealed that Knighten had two outstanding warrants.  one for petit larceny.   Another for nonsufficent funds.  Knighten told Lenzo that she’d just bought the car a week before and that the plates were from the owner of that purchase.

Officer Lenzo took Knighten into custody and her car was towed.

Goodbye, new car.

Phyllis Anderson, a custodian for UNLV, said that on 11/21/07 the machine was in perfect shape.  When she arrived to do her rounds of CBC floor 3 on Nov. 25 the machine had been tampered with.  The side where the hinges are had been broken, and the money dispenser was missing.

Officer Lewis contacted the vending machine company to inform them of the travesty.  There’s not much one can do with these cases.

Officer Culver found Thomas Boss in the Lied Library doing his job. His eyes were glazed and blood shot. Boss had been seen some time before throwing a bag of dope into a dumpster by the graphics building. Jermaine Fuentes, also a custodian, saw this incident and smelled pot on Boss.

When Boss was approached by officer Culver, Boss told Culver he had nothing on him and that he could check him. There was no dope on Boss but Culver cited him for having under 29 grams. The pot was found by the dumpster with Fuentes’ help. Boss was escorted back to custodial services. He gave his keys and badge to his supervisor.

So much for being a sober university.

Gardner knows White but White was out of town when Gardner was informed of the matter.  The case was recommended to be taken to the Student Judicial Court since it was mail fraud.

So much for confidentiality in the mail room. So much for friendship.   

Word searched the purse to see if there was some identification.  Instead she found a brown vial full of crystals, a few razor blades, and some small straws.  Officer Lovelady was called to the site and did a test on the crystals. The test came back positive that the substance was methamphetamine.

In this case, finders keepers doesn’t apply.  This is only evidence that there are a bunch of meth addicts on campus.    

At 8 a.m on Oct.31 Edward Brown parked his 2002 blue BMW in the L Lot.  What he forgot to do was store his Dell laptop in a place out of view.  Brown came back to his car and found that his laptop, along with a wallet of credit cards, had been stolen.  He wasn’t sure if his car had been locked or not because he pressed his unlock button before arriving at the car when walking towards it.

Don’t keep valuables in your car.  If you do have valuables store them in your trunk.

Monique Arar was practicing, what it didn’t tell, in room 140 of the Ham Fine Arts building when she had the urge to go to the bathroom.   On her arrival back in that room two minutes later she found her wallet missing.  In it were two credit cards, $21, and other identification cards.

Her wallet was found an hour later in a different room in the Ham Fine Arts building.   All that was missing was the $21.

It could have been worse, Monique. You got off pretty good.

Officer Lovelady asked Schmitz to approach his patrol car so that he could perform a routine pedestrian stop.   Schmitz threw a rock at the patrol car and began to walk away quickly.   Lovelady then tackled Schmitz to the ground and told him he was under arrest.   Schmitz resisted under the effort of three police officers.   He even tried to get a hold of Lovelady’s gun before Lovelady used pepper spray on Schmitz.

Lovelady and other officers finally got Schmitz into the patrol car where he continued to yell and knocked out a window of the vehicle.   After he was taken to St. Rose Hospital to be checked out he told nurses he had taken four hits of LSD.

Schmitz was charged with obstructing a police officer, resisting arrest, and breach of peace.   He will be attending college in Colorado during his court date.

Leave the illegal drugs at home.
